Explanation of date ranges

Seldom will the date of records we abstract conveniently occur in the decennial year. Therefore, each decennial year will include a range of years before and after to equal 10 years, for example: 1790. Records dated 1785 through 1794 will be included together and called 1790. Many of the individuals from 1785 through 1789 will still be in that locality in 1790 as well as many from 1791 through 1794. Of course many will have moved from that area. As the structure of the census is completed, corrections on proper residence will be made.
